I love dogs. I’ve had dogs all of my life. But now that my kids are grown and I am enjoying having a house to myself for the first time in forever, I think I’m done having dogs.
The things about having a dog that I’ll miss:
- Snuggles on the couch
- Unconditional love
- That adorable little face looking up at me.
- Knowing that the dog will bark if anyone tries to break in.
The things about having a dog that I will NOT miss:
- Vet bills
- Groomer bills
- Having to walk the dog in the rain, snow, and cold
- Finding a dog sitter when I go out of town
- Accidents on the floor
- Smelly couch
- Dirty butts that have to be trimmed (yuck!)
The good news is that my daughter and my sister each have 2 dogs. I can visit and reap all of the good stuff, without having to deal with the bad stuff. That’s a win!
Sharon My Thoughts 
Cats can also be expensive. I’m pretty sure if our cat isn’t feeling well on a weekend, I will do my best to nurse it back to health until Monday. I love her, but I don’t want to have to get a second job!
