Best laid plans – Toddler Version

End of week 1 staying with my daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter.  We’re all still alive and don’t hate each other yet.

What I learned this week:  activities with toddlers rarely go the way you envision.  It usually starts out with me thinking, “she will have so much fun doing this” and ends up with her having a meltdown for one of the following reasons:

  • we don’t have any more _________ (stickers, feathers, whatever it is we’ve been working with at the time).
  • it’s time to stop and ________ (eat, take a nap, take a bath, go to bed).
  • it didn’t turn out the way she had hoped (example below).

My daughter and I:  Let’s plant flowers in a container with Charlotte.  She will have so much fun. She’ll love it!
